I’ve lately been having many dreams about performance:
performing in an arena, writing, or taking tests. And I’ve been having many car or truck traveling dreams. Alan Wallace refers to these repeated triggers as–can’t remember the
term–but repeated images are a cue to wake up in the dream. So I need to work with resolution and intent on identifying and programming memory of these triggers.

I almost became lucid in a dream this morning.

In this dream I was being followed around by a white fluffy house
cat.

I was then sitting in my car, riding in the passenger seat.
Suddenly the white cat jumped into my lap, curled up, purred, and fell
asleep. I remember saying aloud, “Hmm, I’m usually so
allergic to cats, but not this cat–that is strange.” That is when I was
close to realizing I was dreaming, but no cigar.

I did some informal research on white dream cats and found the following:

  • Cats normally represent Wisdom in dream. In this case the cat was white
    (pure), and nonallergic (nontoxic).
  • Cats represent a growing need for independence.
  • Cats are a symbol of womanhood and feminine, which goes along with the High Priestess card I drew tonight.
  • Dreaming of a clean white cat, denotes entanglements which,
while seemingly harmless, will prove a source of sorrow and loss of
    wealth.

In the dream context, the white cat was following me. Then, when I was on getaway in the car, it popped up there quite by surprise. My interactions
with the cat in the dream felt positive; nothing was sinister about the cat.

Perhaps of note for the “I” moving through the dream is the fact that, although I was followed, I wasn’t consciously leading. I also was in the passenger seat of my own car. I don’t even know who was driving.

I read that if a woman dreams about a cat or cats, the cats are usually symbols of how the
woman views herself. This personal perception includes not only how the woman
thinks of herself physically (fluffy, puffy, and white?), but also how she relates to her intuition, her
creativity, and how she sees herself in relation to men. I’m not sure what to make of this.

Healthy cats in dreams can indicate that a woman has a high level of
self-confidence. Dream cats in great condition can also mean that a woman is comfortable with
her personal power. Power is not synonymous with control. Controlling people attempt to keep tabs
and direct everything and everyone around them precisely because they feel that they
have no power. Power is neutral, it is neither good nor evil.

I asked Kurt what he thought of my dreams. He said the traveling
theme of late is a clue that I am supposed to astral travel (he actually said
this). The white cat is just a trigger I implanted in the dream to become lucid,
because I’m normally so severely allergic to cats. It is like when you cut your
hand in a dream and yet it doesn’t hurt at all. I did realize that I was normally allergic; I just failed to draw the next conclusion: that I was dreaming.

Oh, I think Kurt is right: After all, the cat was sleeping. I was supposed to put 2 and 2 together and wake up in the dream! Instead, I was taken for a ride.
